Choices An Anger Management Group For: Adults, whose anger has given them difficulty in their lives. Disclaimer: This is not a batterers treatment group. Structure: This is a "closed" group, where participants all start and end the group series together. Closed groups are used to provide emotional safety to participants, as there is no change in membership from week to week. Goals: By the end of the program, participants will be able to: 1. identify triggers for anger and abusive behaviors; 2. address their physical, emotional, and behavioral reactions to anger; 3. link thoughts with feelings and action; 4. practice and apply tools to manage anger and abusive behavior; and, 5. improve their ability to exercise choice and gain control over their anger. Time and Place: Tuesdays, 7:00 - 8:30 pm, Counseling Center of Decatur. Length: Eight (8) weekly sessions. Fee: $30/ per session Enrollment: Contact Jim for an intake appointment to join the next group cycle.
